WHY HONG KONG?

Foreign students accepted by recognized Hong Kong universities, and private and local schools, can apply for Hong Kong student visas.
All foreign students are required to obtain a visa/entry permit from the Hong Kong Immigration Department for the purpose of studying in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (Hong Kong).
The Applicant:
(i) If Admitted to a private school registered under the Education Ordinance (Cap. 279) or Post-Secondary Colleges Ordinance (Cap. 320). Except for post-
secondary education, entry for study in public or aided school s (other than English Schools Foundation Schools and Direct Subsidy Scheme Schools) is not permitted;
(ii)takes up studies in a full-time locally-accredited post-secondary programme including short-term course or part-time locally-accredited taught postgraduate local programme;
(iii)is admitted on exchange in full-time locally-accredited local programmes at sub-degree level for not more than 6 months or on exchange in fulI-time locally-accredited local or non-local programmes for not more than one year at undergraduate or above level; or
(iv)is enrolled in a full-time course on the register of non-local higher education or professional courses as set up under the Non-local Higher and Professional Education (Regulation) Ordinance (Cap. 493)
Chinese residents of the Mainland, Macao SAR and Taiwan a s listed in below Condition may apply for entry to take up:
(a)studies in full-time local credited post-
secondary local or non-local programmes;
(b)studies in part-time locally-accredited taught post-graduate local programmes
(c)exchange in full-time locally-
accredited local programmes at sub-
degree level for not more than 6 months or exchange in full-time locally-accredited local or nonlocal programmes at undergraduate or above level for not more than one year.
A Training Visa is a subcategory of the work visa, designed for those who are in Hong Kong to receive training in skills related to their current work.
People entering Hong Kong as trainers offering training to local staff cannot be considered under this category. They should apply for a normal employment visa.
A training visa is normally issued for the proposed training period or for a maximum period of 12 months, whichever is shorter.
Processing usually takes 4 weeks approximately from the date of submission.
Once individuals holding training visas, complete their training in Hong Kong, they should return to their countries of origin. They are not allowed to remain in Hong Kong to undertake a change of category from a training visa to a normal employment visa.
Requirement:
An application for a visa/entry permit to enter the HKSAR for a limited period (not more than 12 months) of training to acquire special skills and knowledge not available in the applicant' s country/territory of domicile may be favourably considered if:
•There is no security objection and no known record of serious crime in respect of the applicant;
•The bona fides of the applicant and the sponsoring company are satisfied;
There is a contract signed between the sponsoring company and the applicant;
The sponsoring company guarantees in writing the maintenance and repatriation of the applicant and that the applicant will receive training in the sponsor' s premises until the end of the agreed period, after which the applicant will return to his/her place of residence.
•The sponsoring company is a well-established company, capable of providing the proposed training.
A person holding a foreign domestic helper visa is only allowed to perform domestic duties from the following five broad categories: household chores; cooking; looking after aged persons in the household; baby-sitting and child-minding.
If an individual employer has a genuine need for a domestic helper to perform driving duties, the employer must seek an exceptional permission from the Immigration Department.
Note:
This visa is not valid for Chinese residents from the Mainland, Macau or Taiwan. Neither is it valid for nationals from Afghanistan, Albania, Cambodia, Cuba, Laos, North Korea, Nepal or Vietnam.
Foreign Domestic Helpers are not allowed to bring in their dependants.
Note: Once a foreign domestic helper visa has been approved, a foreign domestic helper can apply for a Hong Kong identity card
•The initial grant for Hong Kong visas for foreign domestic helpers is valid for a maximum of 12 months.
The Entrepreneur Investment Program in Hong Kong is designed for those with a bachelor's degree or above who want to start or invest in a company in Hong Kong and who can make a significant contribution to the Hong Kong economy. The business needs to have recorded stable profits for two years and expects to have continuous growth in Hong Kong. The applicant's spouse and children aged 18 or below can also come to Hong Kong to work or study with them. From the time Prudential prepares the documents for the applicant to start the application, the Hong Kong resident identity card is generally obtained within 9 months, and the permanent resident of Hong Kong can be obtained after 7 years of residence.

The general employment program has a relatively simple application process and is suitable for those who have permanent resident or citizenship status overseas. After coming to Hong Kong for an interview, applicants will be issued a 2-year residence visa, which can be renewed thereafter until they become permanent residents of Hong Kong.

The Hong Kong Talents Admission Scheme, referred to as the Talents Scheme, is an immigration program with quotas. It adopts a points-based system. There are no restrictions on the nationality of applicants (except for nationals of Afghanistan, Cuba, Laos, North Korea, Nepal and Vietnam). Possess good academic qualifications, professional skills, work experience and financial capabilities, and have a strong expected contribution to the local industry. The application speed is fast and the fee is low. The applicant's spouse and children aged 18 or under can also come to Hong Kong to work or study. In recent years, popular target industries include finance and accounting, information technology, commerce and trade, architecture, art and culture, etc.
